Oil on canvas (Stuckist)

100x50 cm

He creates some impressive, surreal and landscape oil paintings.

He is largely self taught and prefers it that way, after going to an art foundation course (Hugh Baird College, Liverpool) aged eighteen, he left six months into the course to go and work as an artist. At nineteen, his first exhibition during this period was at the Whitbread Gallery, Martin Mere, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust..

At twenty-one, he had the unusual idea to be a cartoonist for the radio. BBC Radio Merseyside was the obvious choice as it was his local radio station. He drew and wrote a comic book with his brother, Bernard (also an artist). Their first publication was so successful that it led to a second comic book, “The Adventures of Yorrik” which became the number one best seller (list compiled by Dillons) and was on sale throughout the North West of England in Dillons book shop, Waterstones, WHSmiths, and BBC Radio Merseyside. His first solo exhibition was in 1995 at the Hanover gallery, Liverpool. This was the first time he had shown his surreal paintings.
