Featured, Music Events — By admin on June 27, 2011 16:28Liverpool Acoustic Live welcomes back Canadian Lorelei Loveridge for her third visit to the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street on Friday 22nd July 2011. Support is provided by local acts The Big I Am, Adam Ritchie, and Joe Rhead.

Lorelei Loveridge is a Canadian artist who lived for 11 years in Saudi Arabia, pre and post 9/11, and loved it. She experienced religious zealots, compound invasions, a terrorist chase, earthquake, tsunami, war in Lebanon, crazy drivers, nutty expats and more and survived to tell the tales in story and song. Passing through the UK en route to Canada, Loveridge returns to the View Two from another year abroad, this time in Doha, Qatar, with some new and old songs and stories – and a brand spankin’ new penchant for the ukulele. Performing with Loveridge will be her long-time UK bassist Heather Greenbank and darbuka drummer Debbie Busby. loreleiloveridge.com
- The Big I Am are Liverpool duo Colin Heaney and Peter McPartland. These fine musicians have created a glorious blend of acoustic folk-pop with the tenor ukulele and cuatro at its core. Released on Folkwit Records, their debut album Collecting Skies has received excellent reviews. bigiam.com
- Adam Ritchie, a Crosby born singer-songwriter will amaze you with his mastery of the acoustic guitar. His style is an eclectic mix of classical, jazz, R&B and country, and having played around the country for many years he never leaves an audience member with anything but a smile on their face and a groove in the heart. A must see performer who never disappoints. myspace.com/adamritchie23
- Joe Rhead is a songwriter based in Liverpool. His songs are simple yet beautiful but most importantly, from the heart. His debut EP ‘Growing Signs’ was self released at the beginning of the year after impressing audiences supporting the likes of folk legends Fairport Convention, Kevin Dempsey and Joe Broughton. The EP also attracted attention from across the pond, with the song ‘Sold Down the River’ featuring in the closing credits of US thriller ‘Dry Run’. reverbnation.com/joerhead
