The Liverpool View Two gallery presents an art project
“SACRED X” originated by Oleg Ikona.
The artist creatively explores contemporary myths phenomenon in its various manifestations
and evolves a new generation of media fetishes which are easily understand by any consumer
groups whatever their belief or nationality.
The main work is a BEATLES ICON consecrated to Legendary Liverpool’s Four.
This multifunctional artifact represents canonical images of British heroes
surrounded with a gallery from 12 Saints most popular in Liverpool.
Those honestly patronised musicians and brought their sound-tracks up
to proverbial level under fervent prayer.
The icon includes an electronic carrier with 128 Mb memory containing top
20 Beatles compositions globally learned by heart.
It also contains 5 original Beatles relics such as:
- 10 pence coin with portrait of English Queen ruled in Beatles Times
- Resistor from the first Beatles amplifier
- Lock of John Lennon’s hair
- Piece of Ringo Starr’s drumstick
- Paul McCartney’s finger marks (sanctified copies)
Gathering all contexts of contemporary art product with basic consumerism
statuses it generates a new category of worship objects spiritually available
for any individual and collective users, families, and nations etc.
