Elphinspurs - a splendid new Liverpool band featuring some old and some new faces; a long time collaborator, Chloe, on saxophone, a Lost Voices regular, cellist and singer, Sofie Roberts, and the multi-talented Chizz… on everything else. Of themselves they will only say;
‘Elfinspurs: a band whose name may conjure up pictures of elves with swords (according to one survey), but is in fact the name of a firework.’
We are intrigued.
Seth Bennett & Ollie Dover (www.myspace.com/iamsethbennett) - glorious playing from this improvising duo of saxophone and double bass. All the way from Leeds, via motorways and canals, they may well be joined by any old local piano player they can find…
