MUSIC - Lost Voices, 29 July 2010

July 29, 2010
20:30to23:30

We are getting very excited about…
Metamorphic

A beautiful band project from composer and pianist Laura Cole, featuring a fine line-up of jazz and contemporary classical musicians from Leeds and London. Alongside Laura’s original pieces they have been know to play arrangements of tunes by Radiohead and Kenny Wheeler (and he says ‘it’s a lovely version’). We could make something up but here’s what other people say… ‘Metamorphic combine raw spontaneity, ordered and carefully crafted composition, improvisation and moments of pure genius. A great band’
Steve Crocker, Seven Arts, Leeds;

Metamorphic give me tingles every time I see them, and each time feels like I’m seeing them for the first time, such is their inventiveness and musical restlessness. It’s certainly breathtaking…
Stephen Ellis, Broken Toy Music

..Laura Cole’s imaginative originals, and arrangements of Kenny Wheeler lying somewhere between Robert Wyatt and Soft Cell’
