Following on from last month’s fantastic 2009 launch event, Lost Voices returns to the View Two Gallery on Thursday February 26th with another exciting programme of live music from Liverpool and beyond.
Surinder Sandhu is a virtuoso of the classical Indian Sarangi and was one of the performers at the first ever Lost Voices back in 2007. Following his brilliant gig at the Philharmonic, earlier this month, with his full band, he is making a welcome return to Liverpool in an improvising duo with outstanding jazz drummer, Miles Levin. Expect some musical fireworks, and a few surprise guests…
Jesus Peñaranda is an outstanding accordionist and another Lost Voices favourite. This month he is performing in a brand new duo with Philharmonic orchestra cellist, Georgina Aasgaard. Featuring a mix of classical pieces, including tangos by the great Argentinean composer, Astor Piazzolla, and some original tunes, this should be an outstanding set.
Ray Dickaty, saxophone, is one of the original Lost Voices and, in another brand new collaboration, will be playing with DJ, clutter-funkk… A bold blend of brass and beats.
Promoting the spirit of the eclectic, Lost Voices nights are an intoxicating blend of the strange, the wonderful and the strangely familiar- from cabaret song to experimental jazz, from classical minimalism to an old folk song.
Regular nights are the last Thursday of the month at View Two Gallery and feature a programme of local, national and international acts…
As always, expect the unexpected and you wont be disappointed…!
